Michael qualified as a solicitor in 2002.

Michael has recently joined GWL bringing with him in-house experience at a telecoms company, a cotton trading company and also at Matalan where he was on secondment.  He has spent 9 years at two large Manchester law firms and has recently been practising from a local firm and now joins as a Partner to help GWL expand their Company and Commercial offering to business clients.

One of his specialisms is Intellectual Property (both contentious and transactional).    He also has acted for “tech” and “spin out” companies in equity finance deals and in helping them with their contracts, commercialisation and IP protection.

He has many years’ experience in dealing with all types of commercial contracts and transactions.  He acts for seller and buyer in a wide range of company acquisitions, most recently including a coach company, a well-known Wirral Hotel, a commercial fence company and sale of a software development company to a competitor.

Clients he has acted for previously range from blue chips to smaller businesses and local SME’s.  He is willing to offer fixed cost fees for client certainty with regards transactional work.

Michael is currently Chair of Sefton and Ormskirk FSB (Federation of Small Businesses) and Director at DaDa charity (disability and deaf arts).
